Vision Boards are a powerful and creative way to focus on your goals. This year, I decided to add more meaning and intention to my traditional vision boards by turning my goal-oriented photos into coloring pages! It was a super easy and fun DIY craft as well as an effective goal-setting activity. Check out my tips, and try it for yourself!
I love to make Vision Boards to help me reach my goals.
What exactly is a vision board, you ask?
Well, quite simply, it’s a collage (of images and quotes) that represents your goal. The images are pasted to a poster board and set in a place where you can see them daily. Viewing your vision board daily reminds you of your goal and helps you stay on track.
You can make a Vision Board for any part of your life.
It’s a visual representation of your personal goals and desires.
How to Crush Your Goals with a Vision Board Coloring Book
I’ve been creating vision boards for as long as I can remember, and every so often I try out new ways of putting them together (example, using digital formats, different sized boards, different materials, etc) This helps me stay fresh and focused.
This year, I decided to create a Vison Board Coloring Book!
I love coloring for relaxation and its meditative qualities. In fact, according to a recent CNN article, coloring is just as beneficial as meditation. It has very similar qualities as it enables one to reduce stress and anxiety by increasing focus and mindfulness.
And in turn….coloring helps me feel rejuvenated, so then I can work towards my goals.
GOALS—which are also reinforced through Vision Boards!
Imagine how POWERFUL a coloring book would be if it were made up of meaningful images like those used in a Vision Board?
A coloring book that would be personalized with my own photos.
A coloring book that could help me visualize my goals and future.
The more I thought about it, the more excited I got!
So I decided to try this out with new membership to the Posh Coloring Studio. Posh Coloring Studio is the 1st unlimited adult coloring service that offers you the ability to browse 1000s of premium, printable downloads, as well as to create your own coloring pages simply by uploading a photo or image.
This awesome coloring app makes it super easy to design your very own coloring book.
Simply upload your photo, review it to see if you want to make any edits, and then download. It’s really THAT easy.
Below is a screen shot of the edit stage. I uploaded a picture of my favorite summer wine. You can see the original photo in the lower right hand corner. Then in the middle of the screen is the coloring page version of my photo. If you’re happy with the photo, simply select Continue-then Download.
If you want to adjust the detail of the photo, you can do that too.
Here’s an example from my tree/lake photo. The program gave me the option to select a version with less detail or fainter ink lines.
Try it out and see which style you like best!
Powerful Point to Remember
And remember the more you see something and the more you interact with it, the more it becomes a part of who you are!
So if you’re interacting (by coloring!) with personal images that represent your goals, you’re going to be more likely to make them happen!
And I can honestly say after coloring this picture of my favorite lake, I felt very relaxed and focused with more direction towards my goal.

Extra Tips for Creating a Vision Board Coloring Book
The great thing about the Posh Coloring Studio is that it’s sooo easy to quickly create a personalized coloring book, the hardest part is deciding which pictures to use. So here are some tips:
- Use photos that represent your goal so you can visualize where you want to go in the next year
This will help you stay focused and remind you of what you really want, especially when things get stressful.
- Use personal photos that evoke emotions of success and joy related to your goal.
Usually in a Vision Board, you use pictures from a magazine. But in this case, we’re using our own pictures so it’s important to choose ones that evoke positive emotions (ex: success, leadership, con contentment, confidence, health, beauty, love.)
- For example, perhaps your goal is to lose 20 pounds. Choose some photos of when you were that previous size (obviously) but also go a step further and choose pictures that make you feel happy, healthy, and successful or proud. These are important emotions that encourage positive results in weight loss.
- Or perhaps your goal is related to your career. Choose photos that represent what success means to you in an emotional way-not just in the material sense. Use photos in which you felt confident like you were taking on the world and winning!
